Apple released iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2 on October 26, the first big update since iOS 27 arrived in September. It is available for every iPhone that runs iOS 27, including the iPhone Duo, and every iPad that runs iPadOS 27, including the new iPad mini.
Siri AI, which launched in English only, now also speaks French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. Apple says Chinese (Traditional), Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese will follow “later this year”. According to Apple’s release notes, Siri AI is still not available in the EU or mainland China, and it requires an iPhone 15 Pro or newer. Siri AI is built on Google’s Gemini models, which Google confirmed in April.
Siri AI can now remember earlier conversations and use more personal context, such as photos in Messages, Calendar attendees and voicemails. The update fixes more than 160 security vulnerabilities, and researcher Stefan Esser says most of the bugs used in the iPhone Duo launch-day jailbreak are now fixed. It also brings up to four live sports streams at once in the Apple TV app, a Google SynthID watermark for AI-generated images, Apple Pencil support on the iPhone Duo and a new black-and-white Apple Music icon. The redesigned Health app, tested in the beta, did not make it.

Enough of the enthusiasm
I will start with 9to5Mac, because its articles have fascinated me lately. I can imagine that websites live from taking PR articles from Apple. But please, enough of your enthusiasm. For God’s sake, aren’t you ashamed? Whatever Apple does, even if it farts, you say everything is excellent. Is there really no tolerance left?
Why don’t you write that Siri is so stupid it still doesn’t know languages? You write that Siri AI “keeps getting better”. Without an example of what got better. What kind of praise is that? The only thing that is true is that Siri AI was useless, and it stays the same. Six languages.
Six languages. On Gemini
Please. Siri AI runs on Gemini. That means it was enough to bring the languages from Gemini to Apple. Is that really such big science? Or are they keeping it for later, so the whole world slowly has something to write about how Siri is getting better? Come on, the dumbest AI models in the world speak almost every language in the world.
I am curious. Apple itself writes a press note about every new language for its AI, as if it were a big event. That is really laughable.
The watermark came fast. The languages didn’t
Now the photos. Why did they make that watermark feature right away? I think because of transparency. That SynthID is Google’s technology, and Google has been pushing for a while to label content made by AI. I think Apple got it in the package with Gemini, maybe as an obligation.
But then why didn’t they take the languages too? Gemini is so smart it speaks almost every language. The watermark arrived immediately. The languages arrive in portions.

And the fact that Siri AI technically works only from the iPhone 15 Pro, that is one more embarrassment. Look at it. All the giants, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, have apps for weaker phones too, and they don’t mind at all that those phones have weaker specs. Why is Apple so weak lately? I can’t explain it. Or it pushes us toward new and more expensive models, so it can make money on it.
Here I take my hat off
The 160 security upgrades, finally I can give praise. Apple is the best at security, and what I like the most is that they fixed that disaster with the jailbreak so fast. In this they are number one.
This is one of the most important things today, because AI doesn’t help only at work. It helps hackers too, and we must not forget that. So here I say it loud: hats off to the Apple team that releases these fixes and upgrades so fast to protect us.
It’s just an icon
The Apple Music icon everyone is talking about? Honestly, it is just an icon. People will get used to it, and in a few months everyone will forget. It is not like Liquid Glass back then, which really ran through the whole system. That was something worth attention.
The app upgrades I also don’t take as that important. The apps are excellent even without upgrades. And I am sure we will get the Health app upgrade next time.
I love Apple. That’s why it hurts
It is not that I don’t like Apple. I love Apple. But not what has been happening with them in the last two or three months, what they release as know-how next to the competition. Today, an app with almost every language in the world can be built with vibe coding in a few weeks, and you can’t do it for years. But you can make advertising with Siri AI and sell it all over the world. In my opinion, this is deceiving customers.
